Rice Block Housing for Women

The Rice Block is a managed living environment that is located in Strathcona. It is a 41 unit SRO that houses women, transinclusive. There is an industrial onsite Community Kitchen in which residents prepare meals with a facilitator 4-5 days a week. Each resident works closely with a designated staff employee that is their one-to-one worker.

The Rice Block is also home to the Enterprising Women Making Art storefront, a social enterprise that supports Enterprising Women Making Art. It also has a community garden, the Atira Community Garden, that is adjacent to the Rice Block building.
